The Marmara Taksim — Interior Renovation
A calm, practical interior renovation of guest rooms at The Marmara Hotel in Taksim, Istanbul.
The guest rooms at The Marmara Taksim were renovated with a focus on comfort and a calm atmosphere. The project included redesigning room layouts, headboard and window seating areas, and bathrooms with marble finishes and black-and-white flooring. ARCOS Mimarlık managed the process from interior design through on-site coordination.
Design Approach
In hotel rooms, good design makes the guest’s stay comfortable without drawing attention to itself. A limited palette of warm wood, neutral textiles and bathroom marble was selected. Layouts make the most of daylight and views of Istanbul, with seating niches placed beside the windows. Headboards, lighting and storage were designed as one coordinated system. In the bathrooms, black-and-white floors balance the marble wall finishes. Materials and furniture were chosen for durability and easy maintenance under frequent use.
